CHAPTER SIXTEEN

With all the food washed out of my hair and no longer smelling of garlic and cheese, I used a hairbrush laying on the sink to work out the tangles before pulling it into a lose braid and walking out of the bathroom.

Tugging at my shorts, I made my way to the couch claimed by Liam, Celeste, Marc, and Angela. TJ sat on the floor in front of Liam with Jaycee and Shawn. With nowhere to sit, I leaned against the back of the couch behind him.

“Hey,” Liam whispered, dipping his head back.

“Hi,” I replied. His lips spread into a contagious smile. “What?” I asked with my own goofy grin.

“You smell like me,” he smirked.

“Sorry. I had to use your products,” I whispered. “I guess I should’ve asked.”

“No, it’s fine. It’s just different from your floral and honey fragrance I’m used to.” I lowered my face as my cheeks warmed. “Come here.” Taking my hand, he guided me around the couch to his lap. Celeste moved closer to Angela and Marc to make room for my feet.

“Do you need anything?” Celeste asked Liam, getting to her feet.

“No. I have everything I need,” he replied, his eyes fixated on me. I leaned into him, his warmth consuming me. Closing my eyes, I nestled my face into his neck.
